Chilli Chatpata Sandwich

With the splashes of rain hitting your face and weather turning awesome you get cravings to indulge into the flavourful delicacies that you see typically selling on the streets. Well, it’s hard to stay away from those mouth-watering street foods you see every time you pass by those popular food lanes, but jumping onto street foods during monsoons is not at all recommendable and so you have to take little efforts by cooking yourself and curbing down those cravings.

One such recipe that perfectly goes with this amazing weather and a hot cup of tea is- Chatpata Chilli Sandwich

Ingredients:

1 large onion
1 large tomato
1 large boiled and peeled potato
6 Slices of White/Brown Bread
5 tbsp - Green chutney (refer my previous recipe: Crispy Corn Roundels
for preparing green chutney)
3 tbsp - Tomato sauce
3 tbsp - Red chilli sauce
2 tbsp - Chaat masala
1 tbsp Salt while preparing green chutney
Butter to roast

Method:

In a bowl mix 3 tbsp of red chilli sauce and 3 tbsp of tomato sauce. Spread this mixture of sauce over the bread and similarly spread spoonful of green chutney on the other slice of bread.  Place 2-3 onion rings, disc shaped potato and tomato slices on one slice of the bread; sprinkle half tbsp of chaat masala over it and then place the other green chutney smeared bread slice on it. Generously apply butter on the outer side of the bread and grill/roast till it becomes golden brown.

Viola! You’re ready to serve yourself a prefect- hygienic- homemade sandwich for this perfect weather
