Upvas Paneer Pakora




            

                          

It’s the week of Navratri and while you get to experience the devotional aura of Maa Durga; you also get to see the entire city decked up beautifully in hues of 9 divine colours. While many of us can actually manage to fast for all nine days, some opt to fast for the entire day of Durga Ashthami.

Talking about auspicious festival and the cuisines that are prepared on this eve, Upvas Paneer Pakora is one such festive food that can just go perfect with your Upvas platter.

Ingredients:

1 cup of grated paneer
½ cup of grated potato
2 tbsp singhara aata
2 tbsp mirchi paste
1 tbsp of ginger paste
½  tbsp red chilli powder
½  tbsp  jeera
½  tbsp jeera powder
1 tbsp salt
5 tbsp of water
Oil for deep frying

Method:

In a bowl mix grated paneer, potato, singhara aata, mirchi paste, ginger paste, jeera, red chilli powder, jeera powder and salt. Add a very little amount of water and gently mix all the ingredients. Make sure that consistency of this mixture remains thick unlike the other mixtures you prepare while preparing onion and aloo pakoras.
In hot oil, gently drop this mixture into small portions and deep fry till it becomes golden brown in colour.
Voila, Navratri special Upvas pakora are ready to serve
